Wörterspeicher (Silo for words)
Schloss Bröllin
September 1999
Pasewalk, Germany
A joint work with Chilean artist Viviana Bravo-Botta

The Palace of Bröllin offers a 400m² space for a project. This space, used in the past to store grain, is defined by two large slanted surfaces that converge in the middle. The first general impression when entering the room is that of stepping into a giant open book.

The work brings back to life the function of the room, but this time as a room to store words. Quotes, expressions and words related to the Arts are written with charcoal on both pages of this book. The written words, although fragile and temporary, thoroughly transform the space.
